Friday Feeling…

<![CDATA[As we age, it is important to make room for play, which helps us to remain whole and healthy. In the PsychCentral blog article, The Importance of Play for Adults, Margarita Tartakovsky, M.S., explains, “Play brings joy. And it’s vital for problem solving, creativity and relationships.” Ms. Tartakovsky presents the work of scientists and doctors supporting the importance of play. Wednesday Wisdom…

<![CDATA[

“All comes out even at the end of the day, and all comes out still more even when all the days are over.”

Voltaire

We count our days according to a 24 hour clock. This clock sets our schedules and timing. And, it may also shape our expectations. Time is important, but we should not grow impatient expecting everything to occur according to our timing or the beliefs of others. It is necessary to focus on our goal(s) and believe our persistence creates our desired results.

Albert Einstein said, “Time is an illusion.” His wisdom is a great encouragement when feeling rushed or delayed. Remember this as you continue pursuing your goal(s).

Tuesday Thoughts…

<![CDATA[Self-Confidence

Today, we recognize the Black Women's Equal Pay Day and the need for equality. Advocates hope to reduce the pay gap and economic disparity black women experience in the workplace. Inequality and disparity may cause persons to feel lesser than or inadequate. It is unwise to allow the beliefs of others to shape our understanding of self. Doing so may result in a loss of authenticity and loss of self. As C.S. Lewis wrote, "We are what we believe we are."

For those suffering discrimination or inequality, believe you are better than what others may wish you to believe. To do so, you may have to reshape your thinking to transform into the butterfly you wish to be.
