Sunday Vibes: ART impacts Our Outlook

<![CDATA[Art impacts our outlook and the way we experience the World. Scientific studies support the importance of art to our health and wellness. “There is evidence that engagement with artistic activities, either as an observer of the creative efforts of others or as an initiator of one’s own creative efforts, can enhance one’s moods, emotions, and other psychological states as well as have a salient impact on important physiological parameters.

“What art offers is space – a certain breathing room for the Spirit,” John Updike. Unfortunately, art is not being used in a way to reach a large number of persons in need as evidenced by the dependence upon illegal drugs, alcohol and prescription medication. Art therapy and art activities for adults are on the rise, but so is the need for more intervention given the stories in the news, our communities and government statistics, such as the opioid crisis in America.

The benefits of art are not limited to managing addictions, but are proven to address chronic health issues, heart disease, and diabetes, which affects more than 20 million Americans.

The data references America, but the issues extend beyond America and people are in need. ArlieSpeaks Media, LLC purposes to use art to help improve the health and wellness of society, on a global level.

Our blogging, Sunday through Friday, seeks to provide inspiration and establish our platform or art, education and mass communication.
